Press Release\܂AÃy[ẂAp݂̂łBEmbedded Linux Company RidgeRun TM Launches Japan OfficeSales and Support Center Targets DSP Wireless Technology MarketTOKYO - February 27, 2001 - RidgeRun, Inc., the leader in embedded Linux software for products employing digital signal processing (DSP) components, announced today expansion into the Japanese market with the opening of RidgeRun KK's sales and support office in Osaka, Japan, and the appointment of Mr. Max (Masami) Yamashita as President and Managing Director. Mr. Yamashita and team will work with OEM's in Japan to customize the company's DSPLinux TM product including a full suite of embedded Linux development tools for a manufacturers specific wireless appliance. RidgeRun's DSPLinux solution is garnering attention as the embedded Linux solution of choice for wireless Internet devices incorporating Texas Instruments' DSC21 and OMAP architectures. DSPLinux offers Japan's leading manufacturers both development tools and simulators for mobile platforms to allow Internet appliance developers the ability to rapidly bring powerful, energy efficient, and feature-rich devices to market. "In order to accomplish this objective, we identified the need for a seasoned player to lead this initiative. Max was the obvious choice given his unique mix of attributes including a solid product engineering background, marketing expertise, software industry experience, and extensive industry contacts," says Rudy Prince, CEO of RidgeRun. Mr. Yamashita comes to RidgeRun with more than 17 years of technical product engineering, business development, advanced product planning and embedded systems experience. His experience includes 15 years at Matsushita, where he was Manager of New Business Development for the Corporate Management Division. Previous positions within the company included Senior Design Engineer, OEM Hardware Design Engineer and Sales Engineer involved in product design, planning and marketing. Before Matsushita, he spent two years at Fujitsu as a Hardware Design Engineer. Max graduated from the National Defense Academy in Electrical Engineering.
