RidgeRun TM Appoints Cisco Executive, Peter Alexander, to Board of Directors
Boise, ID - July 9, 2001 - RidgeRun, Inc., a leading developer of embedded Linux ® software and tools for appliances using digital signal processing (DSP) components, announced today that Peter Alexander, an executive at Cisco Systems, Inc., has joined the company's Board of Directors. Mr. Alexander is currently Vice President, Marketing and Operations of Internet Systems Business Unit, which includes the company's Catalyst ® 6000 Family of switches and Cisco 7000 series routers.

For the past five years, Mr. Alexander has helped to drive Cisco's data, voice, and video integration strategy and in September of 2000 was named one of the industry's "Top 50 Smartest People" by Sm@rt Partner. Mr. Alexander joined Cisco in 1996 when it acquired StrataCom, Inc., where he was Executive Director of Enterprise Marketing. Prior to StrataCom, Mr. Alexander held positions as Director of Sales and Operations in the Asia/Pacific region for Republic Telecom Systems as well as a variety of engineering and management positions at Entropic Speech, Inc. and ROLM Corporation. Mr. Alexander is an associate member of the British Institute of Electrical Engineers, and holds an M.B.A. degree from the University of California - Berkeley and a B.Eng. (Honors) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Bradford in England.
