Japanese-language Website Further Extends RidgeRun DSPLinux Embedded Solutions in Rapidly Growing Asian Markets

Site marks first of company's localization efforts

DALLAS, TX and BOISE, ID - October 1, 2001 - RidgeRun, Inc., the embedded Linux software leader for products employing digital signal processors (DSPs), launched a Japanese-language site to further extend DSP-centric embedded Linux® solutions to the growing Asian markets and augment the RidgeRun K.K. sales and support subsidiary in Osaka, Japan.

The site mirrors navigation and content on the company's recently enhanced keystone site (http://www.ridgerun.com), allowing users to quickly browse and locate detailed information. Visitors to http://www.ridgerun.co.jp can take advantage of features such as an online product tour and comprehensive material regarding industry trends and applications of DSPLinuxTM solutions as they apply to wireless, networking, broadband and multimedia appliance markets.

This end-to-end language capability, combined with the Osaka office, provides OEMs in the Far East and respective Internet appliance developers another critical resource to development tools and simulators for mobile Internet appliance platforms.

"The Japan market represents a tremendous opportunity for RidgeRun's optimized embedded DSPLinux platform for wireless and multimedia products," said Max (Masami) Yamashita, President and Managing Director of RidgeRun K.K. in Osaka. "The Japanese-localized web site is a first step at improving support for our Japanese customers and we intend to add engineering and other support personnel in Japan to further improve our customer response and support capabilities."

RidgeRun introduced the added language capability shortly after release of its innovative Board Support Package (BSP) for the Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) TMS320DSC21 DSP. RidgeRun DSPLinux and its respective solutions continuously garner attention as the embedded Linux distribution of choice for wireless Internet devices incorporating TI DSP+ARM architectures.
